In January I started a tech blog called City of Z, to cover the goings on at Amazon. My inspiration was the Daring Fireball model, basically—choose a subject I was deeply interested in, and share links and commentary. I also like his model of a site that is highly minimal for fast load time. I even dropped Google Analytics to keep the page as fast as possible.
I wasn’t sure I was going to stick with it, so I didn’t tell anyone about it at first, but after three months of writing, I figure it’s probably safe to share.
I write a lot about Amazon’s tech, business, publishing, but increasingly about Seattle and the immense changes that are happening there. Amazon is not the only cause of them, certainly, but the company is definitely in the driver’s seat.
If reading about those things interests you, I hope you’ll check it out!
[Edited to add later: I’ve let the site lapse. I’ll keep my technology blogging here.]
