I'm moderating a panel tonight at the Robert Daniel Gallery (2501 Fawcett). I hope you'll come! Feeling done with @foursquare and location-based apps. I want a location-based PHONE.

Maybe it was two weeks without checking in anywhere, but I'm pretty ok letting Foursquare go for now. I had friends on it, and it was kind of fun getting mayorships and badges. But it just never really solidified the way other social networks have for me (twitter and facebook mainly). I was pretty religious about checking in for about the last 10 months, but the benefits weren't outweighing the downside. What downside? A beautiful and clear day in the Cinque Terre …

Last night was windy and cold. But we were so happy to wake up to bright blue skies and temperatures in the low 70s. Here’s Vernazza, from the trail that connects it to Monterossa. And here’s Monterossa, halfway up the trail. I believe this is Riomaggiore. We took a boat from the northern-most town down to here. The Vernazza harbor, autostitched together. And the Vernazza harbor again, this time from a rock we did a little sunning on. I also had an incredibly refreshing swim here, which felt great after our hike. One of our most beautiful days by far.
