Again on the iPad
With a Kindle, iPhone, and Macbook air, I'm pretty well set for on-the-go computing … for now. But this demo of how Wired magazine is designing their magazine for a tablet (note: not the iPad) is a pretty clear example of the appeal. The question I have: how long until the iPad could consolidate 2 of my machines? Already the iPhone replaced my iPod and my cell phone. 2 consolidated down to 1. Report from Torino, 4 years later
I've watched very little of the winter games this year. Part of that is timing with work, part of that is NBC being stupid, and part of that is sadness, because I'd really wanted to go. Alas, fortunes changed and it became too expensive. I sold the two curling tickets I'd gotten in the ticket lottery and watching the games just hasn't been as fun. 4 years ago, I wanted to make plans to go to every Winter Olympics. Long walk to Proctor
We had a wonderfully long walk to Proctor this morning. The weather was unbeatable. Yesterday was beautiful too, but I was in an all day retreat and couldn't enjoy it like I could today. Hoping for a repeat tomorrow!

The Happy Movie Trilogy
This weekend Mary and I watched Groundhog Day. Both AO Scott and Roger Ebert had plugged it on Groundhog Day as a great movie and it reminded us that we wanted to see it again. For me, it's part of what I think of as the Happy Movie Trilogy. Three movies, all dating back to about the same era–late 80s, early 90s, when I was just really starting to get into movies.
