For some reason I've never gotten around much to talking about this online, but in the last week I've referenced my time with SEA often enough that I'm inspired to post on it.
I had an incredible college experience with the Sea Education Association, based out of Woods Hole, MA. I would recommend it to anyone. I spent 6 weeks at their campus there in 2000 (January to mid-March; it was freezing cold) before flying down to Key West for an incredible six weeks aboard the SSV Westward, a 125' long schooner. There was 33 of us on board. Those six weeks at sea were transformational in so many different ways. Not only did we get to visit Honduras and Cuba, but the biggest culture shock was being on a small boat with no land in sight–there was one period of time where we went two weeks without seeing land. I am so very grateful for that time.
