I've fallen in love with the iPhone app Instagram, which is where I shared a lot of these pictures over the last week (and gave them that vintage look). So my apologies for not getting them on here. A week in the Big Apple!
This week was a real surprise. In March, I was in DC for a parks conference for two days. Mary and I decided that it was going to be a rare opportunity to get back to New York. We hadn't been in about three years, and there just didn't seem to be any opportunities to come for a few more either. So we came and spent a somewhat cold two days walking the city, seeing art movies, and getting our last fix in. Until. The Big Apple
Mary and I love New York, and it's been great to be here for the weekend. Mostly our activities have consisted of walking around and looking at buildings. After feeling sick for what feels like most of February, a couple days of walking sounded like the best thing in the world. I've visited two new parks while I've been here. Prospect Park, in Brooklyn, and the High Line, which opened in 2009. The High Line is unique: an abandoned elevated railway that was turned into a long promenade over the city.
