The Big Apple
Mary and I love New York, and it's been great to be here for the weekend. Mostly our activities have consisted of walking around and looking at buildings. After feeling sick for what feels like most of February, a couple days of walking sounded like the best thing in the world. I've visited two new parks while I've been here. Prospect Park, in Brooklyn, and the High Line, which opened in 2009. The High Line is unique: an abandoned elevated railway that was turned into a long promenade over the city. Feels like a good week a comin’
Some weeks you can just tell that it's not going to be a good one. This one, though, I have some high hopes for. Part of it might be that on Saturday, Mary and I are leaving for New York City and Washington DC. The NYC part of the trip is a vacation, the DC part of the trip is for a parks conference.
