Mary and I love New York, and it's been great to be here for the weekend.
Mostly our activities have consisted of walking around and looking at buildings. After feeling sick for what feels like most of February, a couple days of walking sounded like the best thing in the world.
I've visited two new parks while I've been here. Prospect Park, in Brooklyn, and the High Line, which opened in 2009. The High Line is unique: an abandoned elevated railway that was turned into a long promenade over the city. It's beautiful and calming. In a couple months, Section 2 will open, which will more than double the length (from roughly 9 blocks long to roughly 19 blocks long).
It's a great adaptive re-use. I've been really excited to see it since it opened.
man i can’t imagine how many parks there are in nyc…but it’s gotta be freezing there now right?
In the 40s mostly. We cracked 50 the first day. So not bad!
